The PT-2430PC (0x04f9:0x202d) was flagged FLAG_NONE, so --precut was silently a no-op on this model: printing a --chain'd batch of labels produced one continuous strip with no cut between individual labels. This printer shares the same head width and DPI (128px @ 180dpi) as the PT-2700 (0x04f9:0x201f), which already has FLAG_HAS_PRECUT set. That similarity prompted testing precut on real PT-2430PC hardware: sending --chain on the first label and --precut on the second produces a real cut between the two labels, with no errors and no adverse effect on the surrounding print. Tested on: PT-2430PC, USB ID 04f9:202d, tape: 12mm laminated. Only the non-PLite entry is changed; the "(PLite Mode)" variant (0x04f9:0x2031) was not tested and is left as FLAG_PLITE.
About: ptouch-print is a command line tool to print labels on Brother P-Touch printers on Linux. There is no need to install the printer via CUPS, the printer is accessed directly via libusb. The tool was written for and tested with the PT-2430PC, but meanwhile is also used with others (see "ptouch-print --list-supported") Maybe others work too (please report USB VID and PID so I can include support for further models, too).
